Many Subarus come with a steering dampener installed which is designed to reduce feedback from the road. This dampener allows for slop in the steering wheel that does not translate to any movement of the wheels on the road. Whether you're turning the wheel under normal driving conditions, in a parking lot, or on the track, there is a noticeable slop in the steering wheel. The PERRIN Steering Dampener Lockdown compresses the rubber within the dampener and fills the gap which virtually eliminates any play in the steering wheel. The PERRIN Steering Dampener Lockdown is designed to be installed in as little as 30 minutes on a 2015+ WRX. Other models may require removal of additional parts; installation time is still less than an hour.

Fixed issue

This is a great and simple product that fixed my issue.
I have a 2015 Subaru WRX. It's close to 10 years old now. The steering wheel was never really straight. I had it aligned twice, but it still would drift to the right while going straight, and I would have to hold it slightly to the left to have the car go straight. After some investigation, I see that my steering bushing is old and worn. I could buy a new one or get this item, I went with the ladder. I installed this item, which has fixed my slight drift so far, and the wheel is straight. It feels better while driving and feels like a real connection to the car and the road.

Worth the effort

I had a shop install but the results are positive. Its not the steering is vague so much but light. The lockdown makes the steering heavier (slightly) which it needs. Car is almost pefect now
