Will this also fit a 2017 wrx?

Unfortunately no this will not fit the 2017 WRX.

Does this experience any whistling at higher speeds?

We have heard no reports of whistling or sounds of any kind.

Would this work on base models for those that do not have the small decklid spoiler im concerned that the slots that are mentioned will look out of place any examples of how it would look mounted would be appreciated as well thanks?

Installing this on a bare trunk is actually the most ideal! The slots will not look out of place and it looks great!

Looks Good

I had this painted and installed by a reputable local body shop. It looks great. There is certainly some flex in the material, and some wind whistle above about 30mph—worst between 30-60mph. I love how it looks, but I feel it could be a bit sturdier.
