DETAILS

The factory turbo inlet on the 2015-2021 Subaru WRX is made out of hardened plastic and is prone to failure after years of heat cycling. Cracking in the factory piece or connectors can lead to troublesome air leaks that are difficult to diagnose. The COBB Turbo Inlet is more robust and offers a measurable airflow increase over stock.

This inlet is constructed of cast aluminum, a much-needed upgrade over the failure-prone factory piece.

The inlet ID has been expanded to 70mm, a 5mm increase compared to stock and the outlet is 2mm larger than stock, matching the factory compressor inlet of 50mm. Features include mounting provisions for either stock or COBB Electronic Boost Control Solenoids, and threaded ports to accept factory-sized PCV and EVAP fittings (included). We replace the brittle factory BPV connection with a more robust reinforced silicone coupler to eliminate a common source of air leaks. A captive o-ring is placed on the turbocharger side for leak-free installation.

Flats on either side of the inlet allow for the addition of auxiliary pressure sensors, temperature sensors, etc.

Installation Instructions

 

    Does it work with grimmspeed three port boost controller? 

    It has only been tested with the COBB and stock BCS. Others will likely work but that has not been verified just yet.

    Will this work with the stock 2 port ebcs since they claim its a direct oem replacement? 

    Yes this will work with the stock EBCS.

    Is the cobb cast aluminum turbo inlet in stock i see they are on back order on there cobs site wanted to see if you had any on hand thanks bryan?

    Excellent design and build quality

    This thing is miles beyond stock turbo inlet in construction and design. Even comes with a COBB bracket that you didn’t have before to shield and keep the connector/sensor safe on top of already being a better part. The turbo noises, especially when combined with COBB’s LF BPV, are meaner and healthier followed with a loud blow off noise that videos online don’t quite do justice…Combine these with an aftermarket intake and a proper tune and you are set on front end sound and a lack of air restriction due to worn down plastic stock parts like the turbo inlet and BPV. 10/10, really exaggerates turbo whistle while getting on the pedal and flows smoother up the powerband. Great addition to the build. COBB gives you what you pay for, no less.

    Had to replace stock because girlfriend crashed car perfect fit, and much dirtier than the plastic OEM shipped fast not to mention.     The Cobb cast aluminum turbo inlet was an easy install. I added the Cobb three port boost control plus the Cobb intake air box , MAP J-Pipe, Corsa exhaust and a Cobb tune. The Cobb cast aluminum turbo inlet topped off the mods and is well made.
