Proudly Representing

As we spoke about in our first article in this series, our team at Subimods took part in the inspiring 24th Annual 48hrs of Tri-State which officially began one week ago on January 16th - a cold Thursday evening. It was a night filled with excitement and passion-filled enthusiasts - along with their favorite cars - meeting together first at a dinner hosted by Subaru of America in Camden, New Jersey, then continuing Friday morning from the state's Make a Wish headquarters in Monroe Township for it's official launch onto the scenic highways and backroads covering three states. In the spirit of true inspiration, we wanted to continue the story by simply sharing some photos that were taken along the way. Our team was represented by Subimods' Customer Success Manager, Chuck M. and Marketing and Media Manager, Ryan Stanson experiencing the entire journey in our beautiful 2022 Subaru WRX, as seen above cruising in tandem with some of the other enthusiasts who chose to get involved with this amazing event.

The Tribe Gathers for Good

We can all agree that there is only one thing better that sharing a passion you have for something important and personally life-changing with like minded people. This could only be an opportunity to take part in a communal event for a great cause that not only a large group can enjoy, but also combine their influence, effort, energy, and positive attitude to bring some benefit to those you may never have the opportunity to meet. For the past 20 years, 24th Annual 48hrs of Tri-State has been creating these moments baked in with generosity and sweetly polished off with camaraderie, fellowship, and the aim of promoting a pure happening for both humanity and giving, two things that all members of the Subaru tribe take to heart. Every year, this event builds on the spirit of the one before which is difficult to feel unless you were one of the participants piloting their cherished Subie along the road for the common cause. No single picture can truly capture a spirit, but we feel that the one above shows how we rolled one day as a strong community. Assorted Subaru platforms and years, along with their drivers from all walks of life sharing in a moment in front of a majestic backdrop that is truly inspiring -  to say the least.

Taking In the Beauty of Tri-State

Put so accurately or the website promoting the event, the organizers of 48hrs of Tri-State stated plainly, "Not only is this trip an amazing way to see the scenic winterscapes but it is an opportunity for you to help give back to the community." After taking this rewarding journey, both our team - and if it could talk - and our 2022 WRX would definitely agree that it was amazing to take in so much of the environment in a section of the region that many may take for granted if they don't take a few minutes to stop and absorb the simple but serene landscapes that surround the journey's that take all of us somewhere else outside our normal lives. Many of us are so used to seeing our vehicles buffed, polished, and shined before they are proudly displayed in pictures. On this journey, the dust, mud, and road salt was a sign of joyful dedication and willingness to show the outside world that this event has a spirit of purpose which is confirmed by the miles, the time, and the effort each contributed to reach the goal and assist in what could prove to be life-changing for some children and families who can only wish for some smiles to brighten their lives. With this dust covering of miles dulling its usual glamour and aggressive expression, the photo above shows our WRX sitting at rest looking satisfied during our rewarding mission.

Sticking Together

During the event, weather reports threatened the surrounding regions making the skylines gray, cloudy, and somewhat unpredictable at times as a future, late weekend storm front hung in wait. The group moved over the wet, seasoned roadways with the confidence that comes ingrained in the Subaru driver knowing that any journey is more exciting with some challenges attached. As proven on this year's excursion, the caravans of Subie faithful stuck together as the common bond of giving and going beyond propelled their motivation forward without really having concerns beyond the directive at hand. Again, as the event's website confirmed as an annual standard, it reads, "There are all different folks who attend the trip, young adults, families, retirees, you name it, if they enjoy Subarus they are there. We caravan in groups of 15-20 cars and communicate from car to car...People share stories during the trip and many folks have made lifelong friends through the past events. It is truly an amazing way folks bond together!" The average commuter or passing motorist who may have briefly connected physically or visually, quickly glimpsing this event from their own perspective, seeing a parade of closely connected Subarus traveling through a winter dusted expanse of hills, mountains, and tree covered land could only wonder about the purpose. Taking every turn and hill, those involved were fully aware and glad to be in the moment.

A Memorable Experience

Winding down a journey of 1,100 miles of Subaru driving with a bunch of friends, old and new, over a 3 day period is not just the end of an experience that you take with you for the next few days, as a car lover and inspiration driven creative dreamer, it is a statement that remains etched on your heart for the rest of your life. Moreover, when a group of enthusiasts from around the country repeat a memorable but extremely important charitable event like 48hrs of Tri-State year after year, it creates an energy that is infectious and inspirational. When a trip and experience like this comes to it's end and all the tanks are emptied, all the goodbyes are said, and the hugs are given, the true enthusiast cannot wait to start the next adventure, not because they are bored or have a lack of other interests, it is only because of how we are built as people. The excitement of the drive, the fellowship, and the sense of gathering to accomplish something greater is the foundation of the Subaru community - whether it is a local track weekend to compete and lock down your best time, a great charitable event to give back or contribute to those who need, or a small meeting between three friends in a garage to help each other build something great with their collection of tools. Pulling into a gas station to fill up, check the tires, stretch the back, and take a break before heading home after a long journey like this can only make you pause and feel grateful for the ability to contribute to something great. Rolling home through the snow and wind, our team will be forever thankful to the folks at 48hrs of Tri-State for getting us involved as both sponsors and participants - a great goal for any enthusiast who wants the community experience to hit home and the heart forever.
