DETAILS

Reduce drivetrain shudder under hard acceleration by installing a PERRIN Pitch Stop mount. The factory pitch stop mount is designed to control the pitching of the engine and transmission under light to normal acceleration. Subaru's with power and drivetrain upgrades will need PERRIN's more aggressive option.

Under hard acceleration, the drivetrain is being twisted front to back from the front axle torque twist. To control this front-to-back twisting, Subaru created a pitch stop mount. The factory pitch stop is made of plastic with soft rubber bushings, allowing for a significant amount of movement under hard driving conditions, creating drivetrain slop & shudder.

The PERRIN Pitch Stop mount controls the movement of the drivetrain in both on and off throttle driving giving the driver a more positive feel and literally putting more power to the wheels by eliminating lost energy.

  • 6061 Billet Aluminum construction
  • 90a / 70a Durometer bushings
  • Annodize Finish

The bushings are as stiff as possible without introducing excessive NVH. (noise vibration harshness)

Quality Perrin product

I coupled this with the perrin brace kit and the car feels so much more connected and solid but also doesn’t transfer much vibration or sound through the cabin. Great product!

Does exactly what you'd expect

For the price you're paying it's a good upgrade, especially if you're making more than stock power. There is noticeable noise increase when starting the car or revving the engine over 3k when driving, but only with the windows up and no A/C or music on. The stiffer part you're installing is really good at transferring engine noise to the cabin. That being said, it's super easy to drown out if I don't want to hear it. And honestly, sometimes I kinda dig the new sounds.

Install was fairly easy. I'd recommend a little more grease than you think and possibly investing in a rubber mallet.

Great product

Picked this up as my OEM pitch stop had seen better days. NVH was a concern as I didn't want to push too far into the realm of brain scrambling. After installing and taking the first drive I was pleasantly surprised. Not much additional noises over stock. Recommend this product to someone who is looking to replace their OEM pitch stop or even add additional responsiveness. 5/5 Cheers.

Don’t hesitate to pick this up early or late in your build

Definitely one of the most overlooked mods ! Highly recommended you upgrade the firewall brace at the same time to prevent flexing and breaking of the stock one. Pro tip: upgrade your transmission mount/bushings for the most solid transfer of energy from the engine to wheels and not to mention more responsiveness on and off the gas with less head banging bucking!
